Sunday April 29, 2012

Today was a good day to be at Bayview Family church. The editor of the Finnish Testimony (Todistaja) Outi Alopaeus gave a brief promotional talk on the work of the “Todistaja”.
The worship team led in powerful songs of praise. Pastor Darren spoke on the vital need for us to have a “secret place” of prayer where we meet with God. This is the key to a victorious Christian life. His text was taken from Matt 6:6 “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Sunday April 15, 2012

Today was a wonderful day at Bayview Family church. The worship team led songs of praise and Pastor Darren spoke on the importance to genuine forgiveness from the heart (Matt 18:21-35). It is God’s requirement of us, not an option. If we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us.
We had a wonderful time of coming to God at the close of the service and making a commitment to forgive others and also praying for others who are struggling with bitterness from past hurts.

Easter 2012 Good Friday

On Good Friday we had a wonderful combined Service with Saalem Finnish Pentecostal Church as we focused on the great events of that first Good Friday. Pastor Paavo led the service, Pastor Darren opened with prayer, then Saalem Singers continued with 2 songs about Jesus’ suffering and death for sinners. Tapio Rukkila played a special number on the cello. Our special guest from Finland, Pastor Samuli Siren, who is a singer and musician sang 2 songs, then preached on the topic of “Spiritual readiness.” Jesus was prepared to face any situation that came up. He spent hours in prayer and fellowship with God, The Father. We often are not ready for service when called upon. Jesus was prepared to suffer and die when that time came, the disciples slept. Jesus life was not taken from Him, He gave His life freely as a sacrifice for us. After Communion Miriam Kemppainen led us in a song of praise.
Following the service we enjoyed a delicious meal in the lower auditorium. Following that, Pastor Siren conducted a Bible Study at 2:30pm. His topic was, “What does it mean when we say, may God bless you.” God’s blessing in the New Testament is focused more on what you can do for others than what you get for yourself.
The Friday evening service was led by the youth. We heard special music and Pastor Jacob spoke on how we have many needs, but the greatest need we have is for Jesus. He is the answer to what we need. We had a good time of prayer and thanksgiving at the close of the service.

Sunday April 1, 2012

An energetic morning for Bayview Family Church. We joined together in prayer for needs. Then we went into a time of worship in song led by Joel Lise. Pastor Darren closed the time in song with As the Deer and then shared the weekly annoucements. He gave many reminders and details for the launch ahead. Darren introduced Pastor Jacob who shared from the Word. Preaching from John 4, Jacob encouraged the congregation to change the mindset “Four months until the harvest” and to work for the harvest today as Jesus challenges us to.

Afterwards, Pastor Darren led the church in prayer over the invitations sent out for the launch. He challenged everyone to fast and pray for the familes, singles, and everyone who would come to Bayview Family Church.

There is a lot ahead for Bayview Family and it all starts on Sunday April 8th, Easter Sunday: 8:15am Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt, 9:30am Launch Service.

Come on out!
