A bright morning at church this past sunday! Joel Lise lead us all in a few songs praising God. Pastor Jacob gave a short encouragement about God being our Father. Pastor Darren then spoke on Matthew 4 and the temptation of Jesus giving strength to the congregation for the times of prayer ahead for the English Ministry. We entered into a time of prayer for any who had needs: a very powerful time.

The church is in a new and exciting season as Pastor Darren Godfrey leads the English Ministry here at Saalem Church. With great encouragement Darren led the service. The Youth Team led worship with passion. Darren gave a short word for the children with his friend Puppet friend Penny. After dismissing the children Darren spoke on the importance of daily bread from the Lord and the blessing we enjoy in daily Sabbath, saved from striving for Salvation; we know rest in the Salvation and Grace of God in Christ.

Today was a great day at Saalem. We officially welcomed Pastor Darren Godfrey as our new English pastor, and of course we welcomed the entire Godfrey family, which includes wife Linda and 4 children, Jonathan, Joseph, James and Jesse. James and Jesse were in the service. Pastor Darren will give leadership to build up and establish and to be the pastor of our English congregation.
The men’s team led us in songs of praise and worship. Saalem singers sang 3 special songs, then Pastor Darren preached a wonderful message translated by Dr Heka Ylänkö entitled, “Kingdom Greatness.” His text was taken from Matthew 20:25-28. Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave– just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
At the end of the service we had a great time of fellowship in the lower auditorium over a delicious lunch. It was an opportunity to meet and greet the Godfrey family.
